I will eventually post something else other than stuff about music. But since it's my blog.....well, you know. Of all the oldies music I like, I have to say that the Beach Boys never made the grade. All the songs about surfing and driving groovy cars and racing just never did it for me. They were America's answer to the Beatles but I felt they failed miserably. Their best surfing song was 'California Girls' which is okay but, again, is about surfing. Not much of that goes on in Georgia. There IS one song that really stands out and honestly is their best. I did a little research and found out that this was one of the first pop songs to have God in the title and Brian Wilson struggled with the idea. I think it is a really nice love song and was way ahead of it's time. I was 10 when this song came out in the summer of 1966. Let me know what you think.
